See Each Day As A Gift & Go Unplugged On Purpose: Time To Say Thank You & Happy New Year 2016!

Wow! "Going unplugged, on purpose" is sometimes needed.."See each day as gift."

Another year is almost gone and I'm so glad to be alive!!   When I think about how precious breathing is, I'm thankful.  Knowing that every time I get into my vehicle and get on the road to drive to and from one destination to another, I'm thankful to God for keeping me safe from harm. Waking up each day is the greatest and best gift that I'm grateful for, especially since I have absolutely no control over it.  Without this gift from God, nothing else can exist, for any of us. God provides. 


It's been almost 2 weeks since I've posted on my blog site and I have to admit, its been on purpose. My Christmas holiday was absolutely awesome.  "I hope your Christmas holiday was all that you wanted it to be too!"  Well, another New Year is upon us and before it rings in, I wanted to be sure that I take the time to say thank you. I spent some well needed time with "me", these past few weeks.  "Yes", just like I posted in the past, I had to take a "mental dump" (check out this post and follow my steps for taking a mental works) and put everything on pause for a!  Oh, I had a good time with family and my hubby absolutely "showed out" with a very unique and special Christmas gift giving experience, planned just for me!  He's great and I thanked him for making me feel so special. I'll share this experience with you in may want to try it out on your!! 

So, for the last 13 or so days, life has been blissful!  I had an opportunity to think freely about anything and not!  You feeling me??  I chose what I wanted on my plate for the day and that's what I focused on.  Oh, I loved it, unplugged and on purpose!!!  I feel rested and I was able to make decisions that I could only make during my "mental dump" time.

As I prepare for the New Year 2016, I'm looking forward to so much God has given me to be responsible for.  I'm thankful that He thought enough of me, to choose me, for the challenges that are upon me. This year, 2016, could be the year things begin to unfold for you, as well.  Ask God to reveal the responsibilities He has for you in 2016.  You may not be able to go unplugged like I did for a few weeks but in order to unfold your thoughts of expectations, challenges, desired outcomes, hopes and dreams that you are longing for, you must free your mind of everything and be open to anything, in order to hear from Him. 

"Thank you" for making your "go to" sometimes (lol) when you just want to check me out and see what I'm blogging about next!  I receive that "love" and it keeps me going  ;-)!  Keep following as I turn the page at in 2016.  I'm so excited about this next year!

"What If" Love Really Was Never Having To Say You're Sorry?

Happy Holidays and it's now 8 days before Christmas ;-) If you haven't seen this love story before, please rent this movie! It's perfect to watch during the holidays and it's an oldie but goodie!

Well, if you are a baby boomer (like!), you can probably remember this famous quote, "Love Is Never Having to Say You're Sorry!"

This quote is from one of my all time favorite movies that came out in 1970: Love Story, starring Ryan O'Neal and Ali MacGraw.

"What if" love really was never having to say you're sorry?    
Sometimes we can say things so quickly out of our mouths and without thinking, you and your spouse/significant other get into a big argument, bad words are being exchanged between you and your children and/or you and your sibling(s)have a misunderstanding that last for more years than you want to think aboutIn an instant, things go from good to bad!  Where is the love? Where is "I'm sorry?" Family will always be family.  Your children and spouse are your bookends and your sibling(s) are the DNA love strings that connect you for life!

When you are in love or you love someone,the chances of something being said that is out of the ordinary, is very likely.  How awesome is it that our God loves us so much and so unconditionally, that sometimes, saying you are sorry for something, is all that He wants!  Amazingly, He will and does forgive us over and over again!  Regardless of what, He still loves us, no matter how many times we say we're "sorry", for anythingHe is God and His love for us "requires and commands" us to apologize and to make good on a wrong we have done. "It is necessary to say that we are sorry" sometimes, because although God forgives us, there are always consequences that we may face from occurrences, that prompt us to say "I'm sorry."
So unlike this famous movie (as much as I love it), love "really" is having to say you're sorry!
Why?  Because God requires that we do and it truly is "so easy to say!" It's as simple as that.

Cheap & Chic Instant Artwork....I Love This Idea!

Ok, this is probably going to be one of the shortest post I've ever shared!  I just have to share this quick idea with you that came out of nowhere tonight...really it did :-)!!

Remember the gifts I made from my craft table last week? Well, I started wrapping some of them up so that I could put them under my tree to give away on Christmas Day.  
Do you remember the two charger plates that I created into inspirational gifts?  Guess what?  I just happen to look over at my desk in my office and noticed two decorative clipboards that I actually use and somehow, from somewhere, I walked toward one of the clipboards and picked it up!  Then I grabbed one of the plates and clipped it to the board! 
OMG...this idea was innovative for real!!!!   It was straight out-the-box and out of my head!!
"Yes", I thought of my family and my crafty followers because I knew you would like this idea and it seals the deal on this gift before you wrap it!
This idea is "off the chain" thinking and its such a nice way to display your charger plate gift.  As a matter of fact, I'm including it with my plates to complete each gift. 
This gift requires 1 push pin and that's it! Instantly, you have a piece of wall art that is creative, original, handmade-homemade, inspiring and a keepsake that will be appreciated by anyone who gets this for a gift!!! 

I love this idea and I come up with a lot of ideas but this is one of my best!  Pick up some clipboards tomorrow at Home Goods to go with your plates.  These clipboards cost about $5.00 each and come in a few decorative colors.  I know for sure, they come in silver and gold :-)... great for holiday gift giving...Cheap & Chic!

My Thought For Today: The Little Things That Are My Favorite Things!

10 days in and the rush kicks up even more as we sprint home to Christmas Day! I'm taking a moment to just think about so many things that I have done and still want to do.
As I began to think about these things, I started to really think even more deeply, concentrating very hard on some of the "favorite things" that really make me happy and fulfilled.  I mean, it's without question that my husband, child, mom and family make me happy, good health, having an awesome church family, having a roof over my head and a life filled with many blessings, is at the top of my list of favorites.  But what I'm truly talking about are the little things that are "favorite things" in my life.

Many times, my husband and I will call each other up and ask, "what do you feel like eating tonight?"  We both always say "something good!"  It's funny because I know he will also admit that, we love to eat good and enjoy cookingWe are always looking for new recipes to try out and the excitement that comes over us when we surprise ourselves with a recipe that was suppose to be a basic dish ends up looking and tasting like "5 star gourmet!"  That absolutely blows us away ;-

Sometimes its the little things that become our favorites and sometimes that's all we need, to make our day!! I love when I browse through a craft store and find things that I can use to create a new idea or when my husband surprises me with some steamed shrimp, ready to eat! 

Seeing someone smile when I get to show them something new or visiting the pet shop to play with the little poochies since "my poochie" 
is no longer here with me, makes me happy.  Having a conversation with someone that has a zillion and one more problems than I do and hearing how they are still filled with so much joy and happiness, is a little thing that plays big a part in my life!  Yea, those are some of the little things that are my favorites!

Talking with my Mom, who is over 90 years old, as she talks about Dad in a way that reminds us of him still being here, makes my heart cry out with happiness!  "Oh praise God" for the little things! Being able to do crunches at 53 years old and doing less but loving them as much as I did when I was 30!   

Eating all of the things I like and "knowing" that I have enough control over myself, to stop and not overdo it!  That's one of my favorites!  Being able to love on my husband and him love on me just as we did when we were younger but appreciating the beautiful changes that have taken place, through the aging process!  

LOVE the little things and make them your FAVORITE things because "these things" are the intangible things that will stay with you and in your heart forever.  That is my thought for today!

5 Simple Yoga Routines For Your Mind, Body & Soul

When we think about yoga, we initially think about learning yoga poses or physical postures that will help us in keeping our body fit. Yoga does not only offer the strength or the fitness of the body but many other benefits, if we are fully focused. If we properly practice yoga in our daily routine, it will make us mentally strong and allow us to experience emotional well-being as we connect ourselves, to our inner crucial self. It is not always necessary to take yoga classes. You can learn the essential poses of yoga either online or by purchasing videos. Many questions arise regarding how to lose belly fat.  Well, yoga can also help with losing that unwanted belly fat!
Yoga is not only a connection to the mind that helps with meditation, it is also the unification of your mind, body and soul. It is a unification of your spirit and ego. Yoga helps us to convert fear into love and separation into unity. If we properly introduce yoga into our lives, we will learn to appreciate and recognize the positive benefits that life has to offer us.
With time, yoga will become an important part of your life. It will become what you live and not what you practice. Yoga helps in allowing you to become more balanced, more pleasant and because of that, you are more likely to interact with people in a calmer and relaxing manner.
In this post, we are going to list some simple yoga routines which will help you in balancing your mind, body and soul.
1-Headstand Yoga Pose
The headstand yoga pose is referred to as the king of yoga poses because it increases your blood flow to the scalp. It also helps in converting your gray hair into its own natural color. It increases the digestive fire and increases the body heat!
How to do this yoga pose
-          You have to begin with being in the child’s pose position.
-          Relax in child’s pose, monitor your breathing and concentrate on silence for 30 seconds.
-          Lift your head while touching your elbows onto the ground in opposite direction of your knees.
-          Wrap your hand around each elbow without lifting them off the floor.
-          Do not change the distance between your elbows during the course of headstand.
-          Release the hold of elbows and reel your forearms forward so they are parallel to each other.
-          Bring your hands together and join the fingers.
-          Lift your hips up and lean forward so your head manors into the palm of your hands.
-          Plant the balls of your feet into the ground and push so that your knees extend up, away from the ground.
-          Slowly walk your feet towards your face.
-          Lift your feet into the air so that all of your weight gets shifted to your elbows.
-          Continue lifting up thighs until they are directly above your abdomen.
-          Keep knees bent initially.
-          Point your toes.
Stay in this position for no more than 3 minutes.

2- Fish Yoga Pose 
It is the back-bending yoga posture which opens up the chest, throat and abdomen. It is mostly used for shoulder-stand as it counteracts pressure on the neck and spine. There are many benefits of doing the fish yoga pose.  It stretches your body, specifically the chest and abdomen. It also supports the upper back muscles and back of the neck which improves the spinal flexibility and posture.
How to do this yoga pose
-          Start by lying on your back with the legs extended and arms resting together with your body, palms down.
-          Press your forearms and elbows into the floor and life chest in order to create an arch in your upper back.
-          Lift your shoulder blades and upper torso off the floor.
-          Continue pressing your hands and forearms.
-          Keep your thighs energized.
-          Press outwards through your heels.
-          Hold for 5 breaths.
Do not practice this pose if you are suffering from high or low blood pressure or migraine.

3- Legs Up The Wall Yoga Pose
It is a restoring yoga pose that helps in bringing relief to your body including the legs, feet and nervous system. It is a proper yoga pose to get the deep relaxation and renewal of the body. This yoga pose can be practiced on your own, you do not need professional guidance.
How to do this yoga pose
-          Begin this pose by sitting with your left side against the wall.
-          Gently turn your body on the left and bring your legs up onto the wall.
-          Lower your back on the floor and lie down.
-          Rest your shoulders and head on the floor.
-          Hold this for 5-10 minutes, close your eyes and breathe.
There are many benefits of this pose including relief from anxiety, insomnia, muscle fatigue, migraines, and urinary tract disorders.
4- Meditation Yoga 
Yoga Meditation blesses you with a peaceful day and it is easy to do if you are fully focused and concentrated on it. Meditation just includes sitting for some period of time at a peaceful place and listening to slow music or simply focusing on the beauty of nature.
How to do Meditation
-          First you need to find a peaceful place and preferably an open space.
-          Remove your shoes and keep your feet slightly apart.
-          Close your eyes.
-          Firmly press the palm of your right hand onto the soft spot on your head.
-          Bring back your hand on your lap.
-          Sit like this for at least 5-10 minutes.
-          Open eyes slowly at the end of meditation.
It provides your mind and soul as they connect together and give peace.

5- The Bow Yoga Pose
This yoga pose deeply opens up the chest and the front of the body. If you have problems with using the computer all day or soreness from cycling, then you absolutely want to try this pose to  stretch your arms and body.
How to do this yoga pose
-          Start by lying straight on your stomach and chin on the mat and hands resting at your sides.
-          Bend your knees, bring your heels as close as you can to your buttocks, keeping the knees hip-distance apart.
-          Reach back with both hands and hold onto your outer ankles.
-          Lift your heels up toward the ceiling on an inhalation.
-          Gaze forward and breathe softly.
-          Hold for 30 seconds.
The benefits of this pose allows the whole body to stretch and strengthens every muscle in the back which will improve your posture and spinal flexibility.
